ROAMING - ROAMX GPRS

Although one of the major factors in the GSM status as the world’s leading mobile technology has been to provide subscribers with the means to access the same set of services at home and abroad, the traditional bi-lateral roaming model used today faces significant limitations.

Besides the high costs to establish and maintain bi-lateral roaming partnerships with an increasing number of 3GSM operators, when launching any new service like GPRS, major mobile operators already having a large number of mature roaming agreements will have to go again through the time-consuming negotiation and testing phases.

Even though the GSMA’s Open Connectivity Roaming Hub initiative focus is to enable MNOs to quickly and easily establish and maintain multi-lateral GSM and CAMEL voice and SMS agreements, the same hubbing concept can also be applied for GPRS data.

AerVox RoamX-GPRS solution follows the GSMA Roaming Hub concept principle by offering global and instant GPRS roaming access through a single agreement, significantly reducing the time and costs consuming testing and maintenance phases required for any commercial international GPRS roaming agreement.

Key Benefits

Increases ROI through quick market entry for international GPRS roaming without initial heavy investments.

Reduces CAPEX through decreasing the technical resources to set-up/maintain bilateral GPRS connections.

Reduces OPEX:

Reducing commercial resources to set-up & maintain existing bilateral agreements
O&M functions being outsourced.

Improves subscribers experience by instantly increasing GPRS services coverage around the world.

Attracts & retains corporate users and international travelers by whom roaming is greatly valued.

Provides additional security through fraud controls.

RoamX-GPRS enables global MNOs with presence in several countries or regions, roaming brokers, GRX networks, etc., to provide international roaming capabilities to affiliated operators in different global markets. With a one-time agreement with the Roaming Hub service provider, affiliated MNOs can offer international GPRS roaming possibilities to their subscribers without the need to go through multiple costly bi-lateral agreements’ negotiations and network integrations and tests.

The RoamX-GPRS is a carrier-grade solution that provides low-latency real-time handling of GTP C/U signalling.
