evolving from special purpose hardware devices to network appliances
with operating systems and software application which behave as
an active element in the network architecture and can be connected
to different networks. All this is opening the telecom networks,
making them vulnerable to email- born threats that may result
in network disruption, malicious misrepresentations of user’s
identity and handsets harm.

designed for wireless operators, AerVox’s SMS Firewall allows
them to take preventive and reactive measures against potentially
dangerous messaging, by delivering real-time protection at the
edge of their network for both inbound and outbound traffic. Facing
threads such as Spamming, Spoofing, Faking and Flooding, the SMS
Firewall has been designed to cover all the fraud scenarios identified
by the GSMA’s IR.70, IR.71 and AA.50 documents.
AerVox's
SMS Firewall functionality, and its future MMS evolution, enables
GSM and GPRS operators to take preventive and reactive security
measures for potentially dangerous messaging inside their network:
- Preventive: detects security breaches in the network without
performing any SMS traffic blockage and generates reports and
records based on configurable criteria.
- Reactive: actively blocks undesirable SMS traffic.
